The new company building of Elektro Grundl is located on the outskirts of Weiler-Simmerberg and combines four different areas of use under one roof: warehouse, workshop, administration and living. For a pleasant and productive working atmosphere, the administration area is equipped with Green Code acoustic climate ceilings, which also contribute significantly to the design through their visible sound absorbers.

The building consists of two connected but visually differentiated structures, which already indicate their function from the outside: The warehouse and workshop are located in an industrial-looking cube with a facade of large-format thermal wall elements. The administration, on the other hand, is located on the generously glazed first floor of the second structure. Above this is the living area, which picks up on the exposed concrete look of the industrial wing and links it to the inviting character of the first floor by means of a balcony with glass balustrade and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The decisive factors in favor of the semi-precast concrete construction method were the design quality of the exposed concrete elements, the high degree of prefabrication in production, and the short construction time on site.
