Production Facility TechnoAlpin

A new production facility for TechnoAlpin, the world market leader in artificial snowmaking, was built in record time. Due to increasing demands from winter sports operators around the world, the entire production of snow guns is being moved to the new building in Bolzano. TechnoAlpin has been building snowmaking systems for ski resorts worldwide since 1990 and has become the industry's innovation leader. More than 2,200 customers now place their trust in the South Tyrolean know-how and the company is an official product partner of the International Ski Federation FIS.

From the start of planning to the groundbreaking ceremony, the excavation of the building pit, the foundation, the completion of the shell to the last screw, just under two years passed for this project. With a volume of just under 110,000 m³ on a 14,500 m² site, this is no mean time. The record construction time was only possible because the construction phases were not carried out in series but in parallel. At the same time, the electrical, hydraulic and plastering work was being done on the building, as well as locksmith and tinsmith work. While on one side of the building the concrete work on the shell was still being done, on the other side the green roofing was already started. Special attention was paid to awarding the contracts to local companies.

The design of an industrial building must aim to create harmony between its appearance and the production processes it will contain.
