Alpin Sport Center
Close to the village center of Schruns, the new building of the Alpin Sport Zentrale Montafon is located in a heterogeneously built environment. In the spirit of sustainability, regional building materials such as quarry stone, wood and concrete are used inside and out, which also lend the building a high degree of comfort through their sensual quality. Acoustic climate ceilings from Green Code support these aspects by providing comfortable room temperature control with high energy efficiency and optimized reverberation for the utilization concepts.
The rooms are efficiently and comfortably tempered with acoustic climate ceilings. In addition to the pipe registers for heating and cooling, these ceilings have integrated sound absorbers flush with the surface. They reduce the reverberation of each individual room to a precisely calculated level to optimize the planned use as an office or training room. After all, the right reverberation time is an important factor for intelligibility as well as a productive learning and working environment. In contrast to retrofitted acoustic solutions, the integrated sound absorbers do not affect the heating and cooling performance or the room concept. To achieve the desired overall impression, the ceiling soffit was finished here with sound-permeable Green Code acoustic plaster, which preserves the functionality of the sound absorbers and harmonizes with the lime plaster of the walls. The ceiling soffit no longer shows its acoustic effectiveness.
The guiding idea for the design is a solitary building structure which, in interaction with the surrounding buildings, encompasses a new square space and connects it harmoniously with the existing village squares.
