A Prefabricated Slab Element

The Green Code Acoustic Climatic Slab® is an industrially prefabricated slab element that combines room acoustics, heating, and cooling – entirely without a suspended ceiling system. It is a combination of the Green Code Acoustic Slab® and the Green Code Climatic Slab®. The concrete panel integrates truss connectors, load-bearing longitudinal reinforcement, minimum transverse reinforcement, and where necessary, punching shear reinforcement.

Regularly arranged openings and resonance bodies are filled with acoustic material and optimize room acoustics. The slab soffit can be left with visible opening slots or optionally filled with acoustic absorbers.

The system heats and cools the room through thermal radiation by means of near-surface plastic pipe registers that are also integrated in the concrete panel. The pipe spacing is individually optimized and planned for each room based on heating and cooling demand calculations. The interaction of thermal radiation and the heat storage capacity of concrete reduces heating demand, increases comfort, and enables sustainable temperature control.

Acoustic Optimization

With the Green Code Acoustic Slab®, room acoustics can be flexibly adapted to specific needs. Depending on the design, high sound absorption values are achieved, which creates a pleasant sound profile, particularly in the mid and low frequency ranges.

The slab soffit can be designed with narrow opening slots in visible design or filled with special acoustic elements. Behind this lies the GC box functioning as a resonance body. On site, mineral wool insulation and an air-permeable fleece are installed, allowing the GC box to function as a Helmholtz resonator that provides acoustic optimization of the room.

Efficient Heating & Cooling

The Green Code Acoustic Climatic Slab® uses thermal radiation to pleasantly warm rooms in winter – without uncomfortable air currents. The system does not primarily heat the air, but instead directly controls the temperature of walls, floors, furniture, and other surfaces. During heating mode, warm water (approx. 30°C) flows through pipe registers integrated into the slab, warming the objects in the room and allowing them to gradually release their heat to the surrounding air. A perceived temperature of 23°C at actual 20°C saves approximately 18% energy.

In summer, the system gently cools through chilled water flowing through the pipes, absorbing heat from surfaces and reducing the perceived temperature by 2–3°C. The integrated insulation enables rapid response times and prevents temperature lag, thereby increasing efficiency. The system operates silently, dust-free, and can be combined with sustainable energy sources such as heat pumps or solar energy – for a healthy indoor climate throughout the year.

Lighting

GC lights® s the lighting system specifically designed for Green Code slabs. An extensive range of luminaires is integrated directly into the slabs and flexibly fulfills all lighting tasks. The system is fully coordinated with the Green Code slabs structure – precise fit in the slab sopenings is guaranteed. Integration at the highest level: secure installation, optimal light distribution, elegant overall aesthetics from a single system. A well-thought-out complete solution that perfectly combines functional requirements, safety, and design.
