Company building Weber Holding

The company building of Weber Holding Tirol blends harmoniously into the industrial area thanks to its material focus on concrete. At the same time, it stands out from the rest of the industrial buildings with its creative façade design. The diagonal concrete grid is an absolute eye-catcher and, despite its complex geometry, constructed with relatively little effort from thermal walls. The predominant concrete look symbolizes Weber Holding's activity as a provider of customized concrete logistics solutions. In addition to workplaces, the building also houses accommodation and a catering area. In terms of design, therefore, the challenge was to create a use-neutral but appealing look. The concrete façade plays an important role in this, encasing the building cube in a diagonal grid.

Double walls with plastered full thermal insulation form the base of the building. Above this, the slab edge cantilevers about 20 cm on all sides and supports core-insulated thermal walls with a diamond-shaped outer shell. This outer shell is partially extended to form the diagonal façade grid that runs in front of the windows. For this effect, the perimeter glazing has been recessed into the core concrete plane of the thermal walls.
The upper floors are of skeleton construction: Their glazing encompasses the entire building, while support columns are built into the space at regular intervals directly behind the windows. For an attractive exterior view, the windows in front of these pillars are fitted with screens. This trim, in turn, harmonizes with the louvers mounted behind the lintels of the exterior thermal wall shell. The curtain-type Weber lettering is anchored directly in the in-situ concrete layer of the thermal walls.

For Weber Holding, we developed an innovative building system that uses hollow concrete walls simultaneously as a load-bearing structure and for facade design, thus enabling fast, cost-effective implementation.
