Green Code Shows How Room Climate Becomes a Productivity Factor
MORE LIVING COMFORT CLIMATE, LESS ENERGY
Modern foyer with perforated climate ceiling from precast concrete elements – spacious glass facade and polished concrete floor

In summer we talk a lot about overheating, climate change, and cooling strategies. In the cold season, it becomes apparent how viable technical concepts really are.
Room climate is no longer merely a comfort issue, but a project and marketing topic. Good temperature control, quiet acoustics, and low operating costs directly contribute to rental viability, ESG goals, and asset value – poor solutions, on the other hand, lead to complaints, vacancy, and renovation costs.

The Green Code Acoustic Climatic Slab® combines efficient heating and cooling with effective room acoustics – and thus creates exactly the climate that employees today expect and that strengthens projects in property descriptions and rental negotiations.

As we conclude the year, we also naturally look at the climate of cooperation and what would not be possible without good partnerships.

The Green Code Acoustic Climatic Slab® Optimizes Sound and Climate

Integrated heating and cooling circuits provide fast response times and comfortable room climate through radiant energy across large active surfaces – completely without drafts, dust, or noise. Acoustically, the system impresses with precise slot openings, resonance bodies, and high-quality insulation materials that enable a sound absorption coefficient of up to αw = 0.4. Since acoustics and climate control are completely integrated into the building component, a suspended ceiling system is eliminated. Optionally, the ceiling can be equipped with GC lights, which are precisely integrated into the open areas and can be used for basic, task, or emergency lighting.

Feel Comfortable All Around: Pleasantly Tempered, Sustainable, Economical

  • Radiant heating and cooling provide a uniform temperature level. No cold feet, no hot heads. The interaction of temperature radiation and heat storage of the concrete reduces heating demand while increasing comfort; ideal in combination with heat pumps and renewable energy sources.
  • The slab surfaces become acoustically effective. Reverberation is reduced, speech becomes more intelligible, conversations become less strenuous – especially in open spaces a real productivity factor.
  • Design freedom: The technology remains in the slab, the room remains clear and flexibly furnishable.

Nature of Innovation

By establishing and supporting the NOI Techparks, South Tyrol has created the infrastructural prerequisites to establish an innovation network between companies, research, and training and further education. NOI AG is responsible for site development, construction of buildings and laboratories, leasing and administration, as well as maintenance and operation of the areas and buildings.
That the building owner also opted for Green Code Eco Slab®, Green Code Acoustic Slab®, and Green Code Acoustic Climatic Slab® in the most recent expansion underscores the mutual aspiration for innovation and sustainability.

  • Building Owner: NOI AG
  • Planning: Architects Wolfgang Simmerle & Busselli + Scherer
  • Structural Engineering: Baubüro Ingenieurgemeinschaft
  • Construction Company: Unionbau AG

Thank You for a Strong Year

As we conclude the year, we want to say one thing above all: Thank you. Thank you for your trust in Green Code, for our shared projects, for open conversations and constructive feedback.

Buildings with high quality, efficiency, and comfort are created only within a network – with planners, builders, manufacturers, and investors who share the same aspirations. We know that the market has become more demanding: rising requirements, cost pressures, skilled labor shortage, energy transition. All the more we appreciate partnerships in which we discuss constructively, develop solutions together, and go the extra mile. We wish you and your teams a peaceful, restful Christmas season, moments of deceleration – and a good start into a new year in which we will continue working together on future-proof buildings.
